Introduction

Device Checking Tool provides instantly healthy overview and tests the hardware operability on Advantech devices to determine system health and functionality. With log export and external system integration, it allows Advantech support engineer or customer service for troubleshooting device issues, relying on the results to provide optimum steps to reach a resolution. It is useful for quickly troubleshooting device issues, resulting to increased worker productivity, limited device downtime, and unnecessary returns to the Advantech RMA Center.

Hardware features tested: • System Information – collects the system information, serial number, firmware version, OS build version, time zone. • Platform Test – checks the operation of platform, cpu usage and health, memory and storage usage. • USB and scanner Test – checks whether the usb-type devices or scanners are attached. • Monitor Tests – checks current configuration of the attached monitors, resolution and refresh frequency. • Ethernet Tests – checks the operation of the Ethernet and returns related Ethernet information: MAC address, IP address, connection status, and speed.

• WiFi Tests – checks for operation of the WiFi radio and returns WiFi related information: SSID, connection status, signal strength, and RSSI indicator.

The following features depend on devices • Battery Tests – checks the battery status and returns battery related information: part number, serial number, manufacture date, battery health, voltage, current, temperature, and current capacity. • Printer Tests – checks the printer status, paper roll status. • IP Camera Test – checks for presence/absence of external ONVIF camera and the operation. • SNMP Device Test - checks for presence/absence of external SNMP network devices and returns related SNMP information: name, uptime, contact and location.
