Introduction

Advantech Scanner SDK/utility is designed to facilitate customers for RFID application development and usage.

Scanner SDK delivers many benefits, including:

An simple utility for RFID reader configuration and diagnostics.
Support the mapping of tag ID and associated name, such as merchandise or product name. It reduces the application development effort.
Provide Restful APIs for easy application integration, such as RFID reader configuration, RFID tag read/write, MQTT interface for receiving RFID tag data..
Support RFID and UHF RFID reader.

Microsoft Windows 10 LTSC x64 asks for at least 4GB of RAM

Start the Scanner Utility

To start the AdvScannerDemoApp.exe. Find the app on you have located the file, right-click it and choose "Run as administrator". The following window will appear.

Settings

When the RFID module is detected. The RFID information will be displayed. You also can use the Comport and Baud rate drop down list to select the serial port and baud rate you want to configure.

Note: 1. Scanner utility by the automatic detection the factory default values of RFID module. The Settings menu allows you customize according to your needs. 2. Please note that the change invalid if this serial port is already in use

Get Tags

There are supports in get RFID tag once and polling loop.

Get Tag: once an RFID tag gets in range of the reader, click Get Tag.

Polling mode: Enabled the Polling mode to query each tag. It will shows "No current scan id 90012)" after the tag has not been detected since.

MQTT

About MQTT more detail information and how does it work, please refer to Chapter Edge to Edge > MQTT..., Chapter Device Connection > Scanner.

Click "Enable auto-upload to MQTT", and then click Submit.

Enabled the Polling mode to query each tag.
The message is received on MQTTX.

Look Up

Please follow the attached files format and import it. You can be used as RFID tag to lookup customer's membership record, employee identification cards, and product labels.
